The creation of a Standardised NT Server and Workstation Build, or migration from a pre-existing build to a definable Workstation and Server standard. This applies to all hardware builds within the corporation, from a normal desktop build to an Application File Server or Primary Domain Controller. It also applies to end-user data drives and the complete logon/logoff process.

This standardisation has got to be coupled with a real attempt at standardising each end-user account existing within the domain.

Before Windows 2000 hits the shelves, and of course with the lag in corporate take-up, Windows NT4 Service Pack 5 (then 6) is the only option. Many of the utilities promised in Win2K are already available and already in corporate deployment, with the added bonus of less cost, less training, and less management.
